Symptom Severity Key

I have had some questions regarding severity notes on symptom lists on this blog, I’m going to attempt to explain this here.  Looks at symptoms notes on a 1 to 5 scale; the higher the number, the worse the reaction:

  1. minor
  2. mild
  3. moderate (normally no note)
  4. strong
  5. severe
Migraines
A migraine is mainly a more severe headache that can cause additional problems.  The most common symptoms that come with migraines are nausea & vomiting.  Usually I determine migraines whether nausea is coming with it or if I feel increased pressure in my head when I’m coughing.

  1. Low pain to begin with, but increased pressure while coughing.
  2. Noticeable pain that increases while coughing.
  3. Moderate pain that increases while coughing & normally cause holding of the head.  Dizziness tends to come while coughing at this level.
  4. Strong pain that will increase while coughing & cause holding of the head by instinct.  Dizziness included usually has you losing your balance & bumping/running into things or taking a moment to recover from it (usually forcing you to sit down) before moving again.
  5. Intense pain only increased while coughing, usually to the point it feels like your head is going to explode.  This level of a migraine can literally floor you, wishing you were dead rather than having to deal with the pain.  You’ll definitely need some recovery time from this one, but in most cases that time will be spent on the floor, sometimes including crying from the pain.
Seizures
Normally the symptom that gets the note the most is seizures.  I’m going to point out I have never had a seizure higher than a moderate one & only 2 that I can remember.  The first one was back in the first apartment building I lived in, but was not related to indoor pollution at the time, but I did black out from it, so I can’t entirely say whether it was worse or not, but I know it at least reached moderate.  The second one was in 2015 & was caused by the pollution coming from E26; whether secondhand spice is strong enough to cause a seizure or not, I can not say for sure, but I do know spice can cause seizures becauase I had a roommate at one time that kept giving himself them by smoking the crap.   Seizures only have relevance to the indoor pollution problem when it’s caused by heavy coughing on that pollution; it can also cause dizziness, migraines, vomiting & even passing out.

1.      Normally only a slight tremor, that doesn’t last long & doesn’t require taking time to recover from it.
2.      A small tremor enough to impede your ability to move your body on your own that will take time to recover from it.
3.      A normal seizure that will mostly block your ability to move your body how you want to, shaking your body uncontrollably & will take time to recover from.  Sometimes passing/blacking out can be included.
4.      A seizure that will fully block your ability to move your body on your own, cause severe, uncontrollable shaking & in most cases, cause blacking/passing out.
5.      Uncontrollable shaking that causing additional problems cause by the seizure, such as brain damage, concussions, cuts, scrapes, bruises, bloody noses, etc.  It is unlikely there will be a log being made in the same day should this level of seizure hit me.
